The Fundamental Principle Should Not Be a Mixture of Ideas
This concept means that the fundamental principle known as Dao should be pure and consistent. This was allegedly the view of Confucius, as stated in the classic Zhuangzi. In the name of Confucius, Zhuangzi states that if the fundamental principle admits a mixture of ideas, there will be divergence, interference, conflict and confusion among them, and this will lead to great chaos. As it applies to governance of the state, this concept emphasizes the importance of purity and consistency of the guiding thought. It is similar to the concept that great truth is expressed in simple words.
Dao should not be allowed to become a mixture of all ideas. This will create confusion, which, in turn, will lead to chaos that is beyond control. (Zhuangzi)
